Using Our Drum Loops In Pro Tools

If you need quality acoustic drum loops for Pro Tools, you're in the right place. Get access right now with a drum loop download of any of our volumes and be minutes away from a great drum track in Pro Tools. Organized in easy-to-use Song Sets, just drag and drop our WAV files into Pro Tools and use the Elastic Audio function to change tempo if necessary. (Older versions of Pro Tools we recommend REX files -- see our FAQ page.) Just choose the appropriate format as place items in your cart.

Check out the video below to see how easy it is to build a realistic-sounding drum track using our drum loops in Pro Tools.

REX drum loops from DOD

Developed by Propellerhead, the makers of Reason, REX drum loops are a proprietary audio loop format that can be used in everything from Logic and Garageband, to Cubase and Pro Tools, to Stylus RMX and more. All of our drum loops are available in REX format. Just choose REX as you select format and delivery (downloadable or shipped on disc.)

The REX format has advantages over Acid WAV and Apple Loop formats, but can be more difficult to preview and edit for novices. For this reason, we do not recommend our REX drum loops for beginners.

Using Our Drum Loops In Cubase

Downloadable or shipped on disc, all our drum loops are available in formats that can be used in Steinberg Cubase recording software. Here is a older PDF tutorial to give you an idea. Cubase supports Acidized WAV files for tempo changing. Or more advanced users may want to use REX2 format files. Either way, just select WAV or REX format as you place a product in your shopping cart.

Using Our Drum Loops In Logic

Use our drum loops in Apple's Logic Studio (or Logic Express) and take your recordings to the next level. Downloadable or shipped on disc, all our drum loops are available in formats that can be used in Logic. Our Apple Loops can be easily installed and accessed via the Loop Explorer just like Garageband. Or more advanced users may want to use REX2 format files and import via the audio import menu. Either way, just select Apple Loops or REX format as you place a product in your shopping cart.

Using Drums On Demand in Sony Acid

A great tutorial from DOD user Julian Downward. Not only is this a great tutorial for using Drums On Demand in Sony Acid, but it's just a great overview of how to use Drums On Demand in any recording program. In two parts. Thanks, Julian.

WAV/Apple Loops versus REX

Unlike just a few years ago many of today’s software platforms allow you the choice of using several loop formats. Some programs support all three major formats: Acidized WAVs, Apple Loops and REX files. When this is the case, which format should you choose?
